Coupons = Clean Water

See this excerpt from the P&G Everyday Solutions website:

For every coupon you redeem from the March 2010 P&GbrandSAVER coupon booklet,* P&G will give $.02 to the Children’s Safe Drinking Water Fund. A part of the P&G Children’s Safe Drinking Water program, this fund provides clean water using PUR water purification technology. The PUR packet quickly turns 10 liters of dirty and potentially deadly water into clean water. So one coupon redeemed means one day of clean drinking water for a child in a developing country.


Even if you aren't an avid couponer, this is something all of us can do to help out others.  The great thing is:  it will help our wallets too!  Save money...help others.  Love it!

Mail Call-What was in your mailbox?

All those freebies and coupon booklets that I tell you about, do you really get them in the mail?  The answer is:  most of the time!  There are a few out there that are duds and then others run out before they get to your name but for the most part, you will get the freebies and coupon booklets that you sign up for.  Yesterday, I received my free copy of Business Week (I got a free subscription), a free sample of Playtex Sport Tampons WITH a coupon, and a free sample of Kashi Cereal.  Lets talk about the Kashi Cereal for just a moment.  I've told you, ladies only, about VocalPoint.  VocalPoint is the one who sent me the Kashi Cereal but not only did I get a mini box of the cereal, I also received several coupons.  One coupon is for a FREE full size box and then 3 $1.50 off 1 coupons!  VocalPoint has been one of those things that I am very glad I signed up for.  When you do get a sample it comes with some serious high dollar coupons or sometimes you will just get an advertisement for some product and there will be some great coupons in it for that product.  So, if you have not signed up for VocalPoint then head over there and get your name on their list so you can start receiving some great coupons!

Go to the Right

Okay folks, I just went through 400+ blog posts and attempted to tag the ones I thought would benefit all of you.  So, head over to the right hand side of the blog and look under Coupons/Freebies and check out what has been posted by other bloggers for the past couple of days.  Boy, I don't want to get behind again!  That was a lot of reading.  I thank God that alot of the bloggers seem to do duplicate postings so several of them I was able to skip through after I read at least one posting on the subject.

Future plans:  in the next couple of weeks I will be working on adding a "Favorite Links" tab to the top next to "Coupons".  It will house only LOCAL links.  Like I said in the past, this is a blog for Middle Georgia deals, so I will be featuring Middle Georgia businesses and activities.  Do you have a favorite local boutique or activity with a website?  Send it my way and I will check it out.  :-)

Waffle House Coupon

Awhile back I signed up for the Waffle House newsletter through the Waffle House Regular "club".  You can say what you want about Waffle House, or me, but every now and then you just need a great big waffle dripping with butter and syrup.  A big smile and a loud hello when you walk through the door.  I enjoy watching the cook when they have lots of orders.  The really good ones don't even put little hints on the plates as the orders are called out!  :-)

Yesterday, I received my e-newsletter from Waffle House and at the bottom of it is a coupon for FREE biscuits and gravy!  Now, I've never had biscuits and gravy there but with a coupon to try them for FREE you can bet I'll be giving them a go.  :-)

Magazine Deals

If you are looking to expand your coupon stash, one way to do that is to subscribe to magazines that carry coupons in them.  More and more magazines are carrying high dollar coupons in their pages.  They have noticed the success that All You Magazine is having and are beginning to offer similar coupons.

If you are looking to expand that coupon stash but are like me and don't want to spend a small fortune on subscriptions then head over to Best Deal Magazines and look through their ever changing list of magazine deals for under $5 a year.  However, before you go to Best Deal Magazines go through Ebates and save even more money!  You will get $5 just for signing up and then save more money by shopping through Ebates on all kinds of things including Best Deal Magazines.  :-)

Tip: Your Coupon Stash

This past Sunday, because it was the last day of the month, I went through my entire coupon collection and threw out all the expired or about to expire (2/28 or 3/1) coupons.  Sometimes it gets to me as I pull out about $100 worth of coupons and throw them away but then I look at my spreadsheet and see how much I was able to use and all the money I saved.

So, as your coupon collection grows don't forget to go through them once or twice a month just to clean them up.  It is nice to make room for all the new coupons you are getting in!

Did anyone get their $10 coupon booklet from Betty Crocker? I got mine in the mail yesterday.

Prescription Transfers

In this week's ad, Rite-Aid has a prescription transfer coupon for a $25 gift card if you transfer your prescription there. I called CVS (at 96 and Houston Lake Rd) and was told that they would honor this coupon, as long as I have not used this a coupon there in 6 months. I am going to pick it up now. If you don't live in Warner Robins, just call your local pharmacy to see if they will take competitor coupons....it doesn't hurt to ask!

 I was looking through my ads today and came across a $3 off 78 oz or larger size Downy coupon in my Family Dollar ad (came in my coupon insert yesterday and not available on the website).  Anyway, large bottles of Downy are on sale this week for $6.99.  If your Publix has the 90 oz. bonus size, like mine did, you can you pair that w/ the P&G $1 Downy coupon, it makes a  90 oz. bottle of Downy only $2.99!!
